It was another early morning. We left my parents so they could do their own thing with their friends while the rest of us drove to Pisa. I knew not to expect much, but since we were so close by, had to visit. Glad we did, but it seriously was spilling over with tourists and really overwhelming. Our next destination was the walled city of Lucca. Such a lovely town. We were all starving and had a not inexpensive, but really great lunch at Ristorante Buca di Sant Antionio! After lunch, we wandered around and went to a torture museum which was interesting. Can't believe how cruel humans can be to think of that stuff. As we were leaving, all the stores opened again. That's one thing I forget about when visiting Italy, and quite frankly, never really remembered. Stores close for several hours during the day -- which was exactly when we would be browsing. Oh well, that's probably better anyway. That evening, we went back to La Pergola and wisely, Tim had reserved patio seating this time. Watching the sunset against that landscape was just breathtaking. Seriously, can you even believe it? On the way back to the house, we even got to see two wild boar -- finally! Nearly every menu in Tuscany has pappardelle cinghiale on it, so we were pretty excited to get to see them in real life.
