Moments 04 26 :: Week 04

lastweek042426
My day was made when I signed up for Siri and she turned out to be a long dog with short legs -- a weakness of mine. Unfortunately, she's still available for adoption, and she's just a baby at 1.25 years old. She's goofy and silly, loves taking her time sniffing, and was very sweet.

Siri wasn't sure of the water at first, but couldn't resist, as you can see. By the way, I have no idea what breed she is but would love to do a DNA test on her. She's such a unique mix.

Blooms, finally.

Hudson has had the week off and is trying to find ways to kill time. Got this photo sent to us. Too funny. Speaking of Hudson, he's visiting this weekend. I'm so excited! Yay!

We had an incredible time in Minneapolis last weekend. We haven't been back since soccer season, and it was really nice just to have a weekend without plans. Brian and I arrived Friday night, and had a slumber party at Cole's place. He lives in a really nice 1-bedroom this year, so contributed a nice air mattress when he first moved in. It was so fun! The first night, we wandered over to Electric Fetus, then went to Kramarczuk's Sausage Co. for cabbage rolls and pierogis. So good. The next morning we got coffee then meet Cole at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. It's free, and right down the street from him. We were absolutely blown away. What an incredible space. Later, we met Finn and Rosie at Brit's to watch the Man U soccer game. It's so good getting to see them -- and to top it off, Man U won. After a little relaxation, we went to dinner at Hai Hai. I have a huge list of Minneapolis restaurants to check off, and that was one of them. Sunday morning, we walked to The Copper Hen for breakfast before it was time for Brian and I to drive back. Such a great visit.

Moments 04 26 :: Week 03

lastweek041626
Brian and I decided to take a walk with Van along the Milwaukee River. It ended up being 5.25 miles.

lastweek041626-3
I had gone for a walk earlier in the week with my friend Irma. We didn't do my normal loop, but I was inspired to get out again. It's such a great mix of nature, urban environment and street art.

lastweek041626-2
Like this.

lastweek041626-4
Van had such a great time, and we did too.

lastweek041626-6
On Monday, I took Bruno out on a field trip. He's a big guy, but super calm and gentle. Just look at his cute face.

lastweek041626-7
We had a great afternoon, and the best news is, he is already adopted! Love it when that happens. Another fun fact. This week is 1 year since my first field trip with Daisy. I've gone out 33 weeks, and walked 30 dogs. I love it.

Moments 04 26 :: Week 02

lastweek041026
This guy turned 24! He was stuck in Phoenix training over the weekend, but love getting to celebrate him.

lastweek041026-5
Cole came home for Easter weekend. Unfortunately, he only had Friday off, and had soccer so was only able to come for a little bit. He hung out with us a little and Zoe, but I think his main purpose was spending time with Van and Gretel. He missed his dogs.

lastweek041026-4
The Easter bunny came.

lastweek041026-2
We also got to have an Easter brunch before he headed back to Minneapolis for a pick up game Sunday night.

lastweek041026-6
We had an asparagus, goat cheese frittata and beet cured salmon.

lastweek041026-7
I caved an bought a cake last minute. And we had two kinds of mint chip ice creams. Can you tell it's a favorite?

lastweek041026-8
Quick photo before he headed out.

lastweek041026-9
Brian and I took a long walk to the lakefront with Van. The snow is finally melted and there were so many incredible stones washed ashore.

lastweek041026-10
Cuties.

lastweek041026-11
On Monday, I took Olivia out for a field trip. I couldn't get enough of her tiny little legs. She is such a little meatball. She's got adopted yesterday. Yay.

lastweek041026-12
Gretel got to do one of her favorite things this week -- go swimming! We only do a 15 minute session and she needs a life jacket, but she absolutely loves it.

lastweek041026-13
The biggest news of the week is that Hudson passed his oral exam and check ride. He's officially a commercial pilot. We couldn't be prouder.

lastweek041026-14
Cardinals -- one of our favorites.

Moments 04 26 :: Week 01

lastweek040326
Me and the dogs. I love them. Oh, and I also started a new Instagram page. Mostly to highlight the shelter dogs I take out on weekly field trips. But also, a little Van and Gretel love here and there too. It's called @pointingoutpups. I'm pretty excited about it. Give it a follow!

lastweek040326-2
Mel, Leif, Brian and I have season theater tickets at the place Mel used to work. Penny and Chris came up for an afternoon and joined us. Miss these people so much. It was great getting to see them.

lastweek040326-3
Mel made an incredible lunch for us. We are spoiled.

lastweek040326-4
Brian and I have started a fun little Sunday tradition. A trip to Whole Foods, and bagels from Allie Boy's. We pre-order (the line is always super long). We got there a little early last week so took a walk around the block. Some fun street art.

lastweek040326-5
Von Trier's funny fish fry signage. We need to visit this place more often. It's quite the gem.

lastweek040326-6
All the bagels from Allie Boy's are incredible, but this is one of my favorites. Tamago Egg Salad. It's perfect.

lastweek040326-7
Finished another book. It took a few pages to get into the letter writing format, but I loved it.

lastweek040326-8
I spent a beautiful Monday with Bella! She's 7-years old and might just be the easiest dog I've ever taken out. She waited to be invited into the car and then jumped right in. She rode with her head resting on my shoulder the entire trip. She was great in stores, seems totally fine with other dogs, has great manners, is calm but has some spunk. I really had fun with her, and kept extending our time together because I couldn't get enough.

lastweek040326-9
Gretel had a birthday! My girl is 12 years old! She's such a sweetheart. Her legs are pretty weak, but she still gets around well. We took her for a long walk and spoiled her with yummy treats. So happy to get to celebrate another birthday with her.

lastweek040326-10
A pile of Gretel paws.
