Last Friday we were in Minneapolis to watch Cole's last home game of his Senior year. The Auggies played Macalaster. Unfortunately they lost 0-1 which meant them getting into the conference depended on a game the next day. I wouldn't say they had a bad season, by any means. They just never really found their identity as a team.
Hard to believe this was the last game on Edor Nelson Field.
After the game, we went out for dinner and drinks. And it happened to be Zoe + Cole's 4 year anniversary, which is just crazy. Time sure does fly.
On the way back, Brian had us stop at a cheese shop. They had about 5 of these display cases filled.
We only spent one night in Minneapolis since Saturday was Halloween! We were home for a couple of hours then rushed off to our friends party we are lucky enough to get invited to each year. Emily and Craig were there too. I cannot get over their costumes. I was trying to go for a forest witch look. Not sure I pulled that off, but it was something -- and the theme was witches. Afterwards, we both had a 50th birthday celebrate to rush off to. Brian and I didn't stay long. He had a really early flight to LA.
A little house appreciation photo.
On Monday, I took 6-year old Cash out. And wore my shirt to match. Another dog that is an absolute dream. He didn't pull at all on the leash, snuggled in when we took a break, and was just so gentle and calm. Such a cutie.
On Tuesday, the Auggies played their nemesis, The Johnnies. I don't know what it is about this team, but even last year, they could not beat them. This past fall, the teams tied. The Johnnies were up 3-0 but the Auggies came back 2-3 in the end. Cole played an incredible game, and it bummed me out so much I couldn't be there in person. Even in the cold and rain.
The last starting line up photo. This season, Cole started all 15 games he played. He sat out a non-conference game since he had 3 yellow cards (5 is an automatic red). Another he couldn't play because he did get a red card. t's sad and emotional to see Cole's college soccer career to come to and end. Nothing brings us joy like watching our kids do what they love, and soccer has been such huge part of Cole's life over the years. He should be so proud.
