I work only a few blocks away from Daley Plaza, where the big Chicago 2016 Olympic rally was going on today. We showed up just as they announced that Chicago was eliminated from the running. In the first round, nonetheless. The mood was pretty somber -- we were all shocked. Next, Tokyo was shut down. Then Madrid, with Rio de Janeiro being the ultimate winner. It would have been pretty epic, hosting the Olympics. Congratulations Rio!
