Bake Sale

pumpkinswirl-1010

Tomorrow at the Farmer's Market, the Irving Schoolyard Project is having a bake sale. Here's the thing. The playground sucks. It's one big piece of asphalt. Which, honestly, was great when the boys were learning how to ride bikes. But for the most part, it just is terrible. This is a community-based effort to raise money for some green space for the kids. This may seem a bit frivolous, but let me tell you, when your child comes home completely scraped up from tripping while running, and the nurse says she has a line of kids every day after recess, it's not. The kids just want a nice place to play. I've never participated in a bake sale, but made some Pumpkin Swirl Brownies. If you are heading to the Farmer's Market, make sure to stop on by and pick up a treat at the Irving Schoolyard Project table. Thanks.

Not to mention the plans include a U10 and under soccer pitch! The whole village would benefit from this green space! Great post for a great cause Ang!
