C's team was part of the Soccerfest tournament this weekend too. For the club and league, they will be playing U8. But legally, they are U7, which is what they played this tournament. They did great, winning all three games. It's so funny to me how different the various clubs can be, even at this age. One team we played had absolutely the worst sportsmanship. How can you be good role models for the kids when you are arguing with the refs (just kids themselves), the other coach, and even the parents of the opposing team? I don't get it. But C's team played a team like that yesterday. It was a bummer. Today, on the other team, they played the second cutest team in the world (theirs being the absolute cutest, after all). That poor other team got creamed, but they kept on fighting, weren't getting down, and seemed to still be having a great time. They are little kids. That's what it's supposed to be about. It was a great way to end the tournament. There's only one boy on C's team that is not a younger brother. All the rest have watched their older siblings, and you can just tell, are ready to go all the time. They love the sport. And they crack me up because besides the boy with the dark hair, they all have short blond hair and kind of look alike while running at running at racing speeds on the field. Thank goodness they wear numbers! (C by the way is #13, Brian's old soccer number).
