Brian & I just got back from the most amazing trip to Portugal. Seriously, I almost need to pinch myself to believe we were even there. There were at least a few times that I thought about backing out of the trip. But when your friend invites you to celebrate their 50th birthday party, how can you say no? We've missed traveling so much these past couple of years. It's gotten harder, more hectic, and stressful, that's for sure. But it felt absolutely fantastic. We flew Chicago > Amsterdam > Lisbon and were supposed to arrive in the morning. But between numerous flight changes and delays, we didn't get in until late afternoon. We stayed at The Visionaire Apartments, which I couldn't recommend more. We loved it. Tons of space (bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen) and in a great location. As soon as we unloaded our bags, we hit the ground running. First we stumbled upon a traditional ginja shop - right around the corner from the hotel. How convenient! Let's just say, we didn't walk by without stopping. Next we headed to the Time Out Market. It was super busy, but we made sure to grab a pasteis from Manteigaria before deciding to find a restaurant. We made our way through town, climbing huge flights of stairs, and went to Casa da India, which was recommended by a friend who had visited a few years ago. Even though it sounds Indian, it is actually a traditional Portuguese restaurant. We loved it. After that, we called it a night.
