Cole in a tree playing with the dogs. Just like the old days.
We saw the cutest baby geese! Unfortunately, I'm not sure either made it. One didn't for sure. They didn't understand that the road wasn't a good place to rest.
Finished another book, which I really enjoyed.
Neither of the boys were around for Mother's Day, but my mom just got back from Florida so we got to spend the day with her.
My dad cooked for all of us moms. It was a great day.
I was signed up to take a different dog out, but had to pivot when I found out he was removed from the adoption list. Shelter life messes with dogs -- especially those who have been there awhile. It's a bummer, but reality. I knew immediately who I wanted to take out. Eowyn! You might remember her from a couple of weeks ago. She's almost 4 years old and cannot live with kids under 10, which is why she keeps getting overlooked. She's goofy and sweet and there's something about her I adore. I'm really hoping these little breaks are helping keep her spirits lifted because she's an incredible dog.
The tree in the front of our house is really doing it's spring thing this year. Gorgeous.
Cole and Zoe drove to Colorado for a few days, but we had one day before he needed to get back to Minneapolis. Brian arranged for pedicures for all of us! He and Cole even decided to paint their toes this time.
Unfortunately, we didn't get to sit next to each other. The seats were packed, and when we left, the woman next to Cole said she's never had so much fun getting her nails done. We definitely had a great time.
That night, we went to St. Paul Fish Market. Cole saw the oysters Hudson enjoyed when he visited a couple weeks ago and has been thinking about them ever since.
This will be our first summer without him around. We had such a great visit, and are going to really miss him. He's going to be taking two summer classes, playing soccer and hopefully working. It should be busy and very fun.
