It was a rough night, with Van (the dog) waking us up multiple times to take him out. Poor guy had an upset tummy. We think it was all the the driving, but who knows. It was his first big adventure after all, so he may have also been a little anxious. He was a trooper though. Before we left for our next destination, we walked to the Lower & Upper Falls. Upper is really impressive, but Lower was our favorite. Again, Michigan does things right. The walkways were so nicely done. It was really quite stunning. From there, we drove across the Mackinac Bridge (which was super foggy) to route M-119, the Tunnel of Trees. This is a road Brian takes on a motorcycle ride he's done in the past, and it was beautiful. It was fun in a van -- I can only imagine what it's like on a motorcycle. We had a late lunch/early dinner at Legs, a well known Polish restaurant with an incredible patio and garden area. The food was really good too. Our last evening was spent at Wilderness State Park. Originally we had a different site, but we ended up getting on near Lake Michigan so took it. It was on the end, and kind of hectic, but it turned out to be perfect. We liked being on the end. Van did really well tied up, and got to meet a lot of people and other dogs, so it was good training. People were definitely gearing up for the holiday weekend at this point. The park was filled. There were kids cruising around and people with decked out sites. The site across from us were right on the beach, so we were able to catch the sunset. It was beautiful. Even with the chaos of the holiday weekend, when 10pm hit, the place was quiet. It was a perfect night.
