Nothing to see here.

Moody.

Chocolate Hazelnut Bars. Yep, I'm still baking.

lastweek043021-4
C's soccer team. They ended last weekend 1-1-1. They had a fun weekend, and C played really well in defense and midfield. He hasn't played defense since U9, but got a taste of it again, and has really been enjoying it.

lastweek043021-5
Prepping some more fabric for dying.

lastweek043021-6
H had finals this week. We celebrated the end of a crazy freshman year with Popeye's. Yes, that's a family meal for the two of them.

lastweek043021-7
There have been some stunning sunsets this week.

lastweek043021-8
Chillin'

lastweek043021-9
This poor girl had a rough week. She had a very upset tummy for several days. Fortunately, she's feeling much better but it took forever. And poor H! She sleeps in his bed, and was getting up 1-3 times a night.

Moments 04 21 :: Week 04

lastweek042321-2
Brian joined a new hunt club. I approve. It's really nice. We just wandered around and hiked the trails. We also let Gretel and Van run in the fields (it's not hunting season right now). Let's just say, Gretel needs a little bit of work. It's been a couple years.

lastweek042321
After all that hiking, we needed a snack. Coffee and zucchini and pistachio breads. See why I like this place? The Lodge is super cute, and serves some really great food. I'm excited.

lastweek042321-3
I mean, seriously? Just look how this guy stares at his big sister.

lastweek042321-4
This happened on April 21. It didn't stay, but it was pretty crazy.

lastweek042321-5
Brian's turn to take C on his soccer weekend. This time, they are in Cincinnati. And stopped in Fair Oaks, where I spent the weekend with him.

lastweek042321-6
Meanwhile, H and I feasted on sushi. We may have overdone it, but it was delicious. We ate all but a few pieces.

lastweek042321-7
Van is getting big! He's 14 weeks right now. We've been going for lots of walks. He's not always a fan, but it's good getting him out.

lastweek042321-8
Finally! Some blooms on our magnolia tree. Glad to see they survived that winter storm we had a couple days earlier.

Moments 04 21 :: Week 03

Delicious mushroom congee from Ottolenghi Flavor

lastweek041621-2
He DOES sleep in a crate a night. But every morning after the first potty break, this happens.

lastweek041621-3
Oh my gosh, these two!

lastweek041621-4
Took Van to the gym for a few hours while I straightened it up. He did great. Definite gym dog in the making.

lastweek041621-5
This is Gretel's snuggle partner, but once in awhile, Van gets to jump in.

lastweek041621-6
They all hate each other... (it's official, we are crazy dog people that need a new hobby).

Moments 04 21 :: Week 02

lastweek040921
Digs grew a mushroom! Our neighbor, who also loves mushrooms, help tend to it while we were gone. It's gorgeous.

lastweek040921-2
Van turned 12 weeks. And yes, I am going to keep track of this. I can't tell you how many times I've looked back at Gretel's baby pictures lately. Hard to believe she was ever this size.

lastweek040921-3
Back in February, I started my shingles vaccination. I figured the timing would be good, but I contacted my doctor, who's assistant told me to wait until I got both rounds of it before getting any other vaccines. Well, things are fortunately moving along quickly with the COVID vaccine, and I was bummed I was going to have to wait to get it. I contacted my doctor again, and this time, was told it was totally fine to schedule the COVID vaccine before the second shingles shot. I looked at available slots, and was able to get one 45 minutes later! Off I went. Feeling very lucky. Also, I ended up with the Johnson & Johnson, so one and done.

lastweek040921-4
Baby's first trip to the dog park. He loved it.

lastweek040921-5
I think it's safe to say, Van & Gretel really love eachother.

The final day was a big one. Not only was it Easter, but it was also H's 19th birthday! Last year of being a teenager. That's insane, if you ask me. We had pancakes for breakfast, played a little bocce, swam, had an early Easter lunch/dinner, a banana pudding poke cake and it was time to go! We had a late flight and a little moment of chaos as we found out our flight from Fort Myers to Atlanta was delayed and we'd miss our connection. Fortunately, we were able to get a little bit of an earlier one. After a busy day, we arrived home after midnight. It's been three years since we were all in Florida together. Long overdue. It was a really great trip.

The last full day. Always bittersweet. I talked Brian into going to for a long walk with me. Later that day, we had a family pickle ball match. The boys absolutely love playing, and it was a blast. That night we went to the club for a really nice dinner and played a card game of Golf

Brian & H woke up early again and went to DeRoma's to pick up dinner supplies, then all of us went kayaking. Seriously, it's one of my favorite things to do. I'm not sure if it was because we went earlier in the day, or that it was colder out, but we saw so many great things! Dolphins, sharks, and my favorite, manatees. Two of them. I'm obsessed. It was spectacular. Later in the day, the boys all went golfing, while my mom and I caught up on stuff. We finished the day with a great dinner. Another great day in paradise.
