Woke up to a little more rain, so decided to get coffee in town at a food truck then head to the next destination. Our first spot was Eagle River, MI to checke out the falls. We even found a little dog run that Van got to spend some time in. I think the hardest thing for him during this trip was not being able run around like he usually does, so it was perfect. Eagle River also has an operational lighthouse which wasn't open until later in the day, but we were still able to walk around a little bit. Next we stopped by Jacob's Falls and The Jam Pot, a great little store run by Byantine Monks. We were lucky enough to pick up one of their few jars of Wild Strawberry Jam. Super delicious. Onward, to Marquette, MI. Our favorite brewery is not dog friendly, so we ended up getting food at Third Street Bagel instead, which worked out even better since we were able to hit the road quickly again to reach our next destination - Tahquamenon Falls State Park. We didn't have reservations yet, so when we arrived, we were given a map with the sites that were open, then drove around before claiming our spot. It was pretty much perfect. Right off the trailhead, overlooking water. We set up camp, then walked over to the Lower Falls, which is close by the campsite. We decided to do the full hike the next day, but got a little teaser. Unfortunately, this campsite was probably the worst for bugs. We could barely be outside and ended up watching an episode of The Bear instead of star gazing and calling it a night.
