We just spent an incredible week in sunny Baja California Sur, Mexico. It's an area we have always wanted to visit, and it didn't disappoint. We are all excited to some day go back. We flew out on a Monday morning. The original plan was to drive to O'Hare that morning to catch our early flight, but the weather was terrible, and projected to get worse so we ended up at an airport hotel that also offers parking. It was filled with stranded travelers. Cole, who was in Chicago for the weekend, was also able to meet us there and we all took the shuttle together to the airport the next morning. By some miracle, our flight few out on time and without any glitches. But honestly, the drive from Wisconsin or from the city would have been harrowing.
We landed in Los Cabos, picked up our rental car and drove the one hour and twenty minutes to our home for the week -- Los Cerritos. We quickly realized we should have rented a 4x4 truck. The roads are dirt and so bumpy. Our trusty VW car held up t, but there were definitely moments over the course of the week that we wondered if it would make it up the steep hill to get to our condo. Speaking of our condo, it was beautiful, comfortable and had the most incredible views. Absolutely perfect. We all wanted to pinch ourselves. Our friends own a condo two doors down, so that was also very convenient. It was great catching up. Unfortunately, we had no idea the restaurants closed so early, so couldn't find anywhere to eat. We had stopped at a small grocery store earlier, so Cole whipped up some scrambled eggs and tortilla. Perfect.
