I don't get too many pieces of artwork anymore from H. Makes me sad. A few weeks ago, he was supposed to be part of a "coffee house" show at his school. Besides playing his baritone, this painting of his was on display. Unfortunately, the coffee house took place the one day he was home sick, so he wasn't able to make it. Art is not really his thing, so when this piece was selected, he was proud. I'm so glad to finally get to see it.

Instead of the smaller art projects that C brings home every now and then, H showed up with a huge folder from art class that he's spend the entire year on. A lot of is is technique -- shading, colors, etc. Honestly, not too exciting, but great to be learning. Towards the end of the year, however, they had a guest artist work with them who specializes in textiles. This is what H came up with. I kind of love it.

Seems to be the second in his series. Speaking of snow ... brrrr, it's so cold! The last couple days brought some icy rain. I'm not a fan at all. And now, it's just plain cold. I think I'm ready for summer.

I feature a lot of the kid's artwork on my blog, and I do realize this can be quite boring for some people. Admittedly, I have a soft spot for artwork by children. Any children, really. It doesn't have to be just mine. But honestly, it's simply my way to archiving it all. I've been trying to make a blog book every year (ok, so I've only finished one so far), so eventually, all these artwork posts get "published." This piece though? It's definitely one of my favorites. I adore the multi-color robins -- including the one flying sideways. I think the lines of telephone wire are great. Even the ground and road is interesting. This one is a keeper.
