Sunday, what a day! After our late night, we all rallied and made it to Chinatown for an early dim sum brunch at Golden Unicorn, where we met up with Hudson and his friend Sebastian! How fun is that? They went to school together, were flying together, and happened to have a layover in Newark at the same time we were there. Hudson’s job takes him all over the place, and when things like this align, it’s just incredible. We only had a couple of hours together, but I’ll take it! The dim sum was delicious, and it was so much fun catching up.

After brunch, we all parted ways. Penny and Chris were heading home, while Mel and Leif had a full family day planned with Emma, Toby, and Madison. We tried to squeeze in a trip to Little Italy before the boys had to leave to catch their flight, but we got a little turned around. Instead, we grabbed a coffee and wandered around for a bit before saying our goodbyes.

Brian and I decided to spend the afternoon exploring more of the city on foot. We finally made it to Little Italy, then wandered through NoHo, SoHo, the West Village, and the East Village before making our way all the way back to the hotel! After a little rest, it was time to head back out. We took the subway to the High Line, which is such a different experience at night! I love seeing how the atmosphere changes after dark. We couldn’t decide where to go for dinner, so we ended up back at our favorite sushi spot for sushi and oysters. Afterward, we walked back toward Grand Central and ended with a nightcap at The Campbell.

It was such a fun, full day. We also hit a new record for steps in a day for both of us — 30,000!
