We had an early wakeup to spend the day on a Douro Valley Tour that was recommended by someone I work out with. I'm so glad we did it. The tour and day were so special. We drove 1.5 hours to a winery, then stopped at an overlook with a spectacular view. After, we went on a boat cruise, then had lunch another winery, the family's home. There were seven of us in the group, and it was great. Our guide was awesome and the other guests were so fun. The other couple actually got engaged in the wine barrel! He knew it was going to happen some time on the trip, and figured not many people do that. It was special to be part of the day. The other person is a woman from Korea who is moving back after living in Saudi Arabia. Turns out, she is a CrossFit coach and that's why she was in Saudi Arabia. We didn't realize this until the end of the day. What a fun connection. We all had a great time. We were feeling very full so went to Shiko for sushi. Delicious. Then we wandered back, stopped for drinks at The Royal Cocktail Club, and called it a night.
