Moments 02 18 - Week 04
Had such a blast cheering on some of my fellow athletes at the Granite Games last weekend.
Made this Almond Sugar Cookies over the weekend. I've got to stop torturing myself like this! The boys and Brian really liked them though.
A gym friend brought his 8-week old bulldog, Diesel, to the gym on Monday. Since the boys were off of school, C came with me to meet him. Can you even?
#13 is back at it again -- this time on the volleyball court.

Early Valentine's Day Dinner
Brian surprised us and took us out for an early Valentine's Day dinner since C has soccer practice until late on the actual day. We went to Birch + Butcher, which I've been wanting to try out for awhile. I love taking our kids out to dinner. Seriously, they love trying new things, and are just so fun to experience it all with. It was such a great night.
Here's what we ate:
Charcuterie + Cheese
Kale Caesar + Crispy Anchovy
BBQ Parsnips Chili + Yogurt
Roast Meatballs, Yellow Corn Grits + Pleasant Ridge Reserve
Crawfish + Grits, Kimchi + Consomme
Butter Poached Steelhead Trout, Smoked Lardo, Roast Broccoli + Salsa Verde
Coconut Semifreddo with Lime
Chocolate Semifreddo, Toasted Marshmallow + Graham Cracker

Moments 02 18 - Week 02
Friday feels.
The JV Conference meet was last Friday night at Homestead High School. Grandma came up for it, which was so great. H was in 4 events -- 400 Relay Medley, 200 Individual Medley, 200 Freestyle Relay and 200 Breaststroke -- and placed in every single event! Their Relay Medley team squeaked out a 1st place victory while the Freestyle Relay came in second. The Relays are always so fun to watch, but H blew us away with his individual races. He got 2nd out of 10 in the IM and it's only the 2nd time he did that race. The most exciting was the Breaststroke, where he missed 1st place (out of 22) by .05 second. He was sad to see the season come to an end, for sure. It was a really great one.
Grandma was a trooper and went with Brian to C's soccer practice. Then we went to Ruckus for lunch before she had to head back.
The week flew by, with C finishing up his basketball season, soccer practice, etc. H enjoyed having a little extra free time since the beginning of the school year, now that swim is over for him. The icing on the cake? A Friday snow day!!!! I've been hiring H to snow blow. He took some time out to play with Gretel, who is just in heaven. She definitely needs some help on her catch game. Whether it's a snowball or a tennis ball, she always lets it hit her head. Hilarious.
This is from my other Instagram site @conscious_consequences. Did you know I had that? It's my business account for Beautycounter. But I also put a lot of other stuff on there too. Usually healthy things, which this clearly isn't. However, a snow day certainly calls for cookies, and these Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies by Smitten Kitchen turned out quite delicious.

Moments 02 18 - Week 01
We ordered fish, which came shipped in dry ice. It sure is fun!
My Wednesday night view. After missing last week due to his overnight field trip, #76 was so excited to be back at his happy place.

These photos may not show it, but we've been so busy this week! C had a basketball game every single day. H has been busy with school and his last week of swim practice. The final JV meet is tonight, as a matter of fact. Two nights in a row, I fell asleep watching The Crown. I'm really looking forward to the weekend.
