The big news of the week -- we got a van. We've been talking about this for years. It was time for Brian to get a new vehicle, and this is what he picked! Definitely makes the idea of being an empty nester in another year a little more fun. Looking forward to many adventures.

Moments 05 22 :: Week 03
Last weekend was Whitefish Bay prom. The boys wouldn't go to their own prom but fortunately the girls talked them into going to their high school's. Cole was actually really excited about it too, as he should be.
Cole & Gavin
Cole and Zoe
The gang. They dress up nicely, don't they?
Off they go! Seriously, they piled into the pickup truck and headed to the Grain Exchange. Too funny.
Meanwhile in St. Louis, Brian took Hudson & his roommates out for dinner and somehow talked them into this. I love it. I also love that Hudson has been home all week. It's been a busy one, but it's nice having him around. Especially since he'll be spending most of the summer in St. Louis.
With everyone away, the dogs and I had some quiet time. Van wondering where everyone was.
The morning after prom. They all had such a great time!
On Tuesday, I went to an event for Rogers Behavioral Health. My sister sits on the board, and even gave the introduction. I don't know how she does it, but she did great.

Moments 05 22 :: Week 02
I took this photo of Lake Michigan for Hudson and forgot to send it. It was particularly stunning on my walk that day.
When your little brother hogs the sofa.
My parents are back from Florida, and came out on Saturday for an early Mother's Day celebration.
The next day we went to River Wildlife with Joan.
My guy. I don't see much of him anymore, but when I do, I really like him. I absolutely love being his mom. Also, it was the first year without Hudson around as he was finishing up finals this week.
A feast for a queen. Well, it WAS Mother's Day after all.
Brian flew out to St. Louis to help Hudson move into his summer apartment. He'll be around a couple weeks, but is looking forward to a fun summer in St. Louis. Hudson also had a flight lesson while there, so Brian joined him at the airport.

Moments 05 22 :: Week 01
Brian got an Ooni pizza oven for his birthday in March. Last week's pizza was particularly delicious - Genoa Salami, Fennel & Asiago. I've been using the Roberta's Pizza Dough recipe from NY Times and think we found the one.
Not the best photo, but sure shows what a goofball this guy is. He's missing about three major molars in his mouth (no one is perfect), which gives him the perfect hold for toys. He sure knows how to take advantage of that.

A Big Night for Chris
Big Night. The classic 1996 Stanley Tucci film. Back in 2014, Chris & Penny decided to tackle the timpano and host a Big Night themes dinner party. They've had a couple other Big Nights since, but sadly, we've only made the inaugural one. This year's however, was not to be missed. Not only was it a Big Night, it was a surprise for Chris's 50th birthday which is next week. He made the timpano, but had no idea what was in store for him. As we were having cocktails on the porch, an accordion player walked out to begin the night. There were costume changes, menu swaps and festive decorations. Brian & I didn't have much to do with it besides bringing the Crespelle in Brodo, but let me just say, our friends sure do know how to throw a theme party. Everyone brought a dish from the region in Italy Chris's family is originally from. There were corsages and boutonnaires. Wine & whiskey. And so many laughs. Such a great Big Night.
